Business as a force for good - it’s how I work, and how I live.

My work today is shaped by more than two decades of experience as an entrepreneur, CEO, advisor, and sustainability leader. But the journey started much earlier.

At 19, I left Sweden for an athletic scholarship at New Mexico State University in the United States. Swimming taught me discipline, focus, and the value of setting ambitious goals. During my seven years in the U.S., I completed both my bachelor’s degree and an MBA, and began my career as a manager in the shipping industry.

Eventually, I returned to Sweden to lead an energy optimisation technology company. As CEO, I worked closely with teams and customers to grow the business while improving energy efficiency and long term value creation. During my time leading the organisation, we doubled revenue and strengthened the company’s strategic direction.

But during those years, something else was unfolding. While pregnant with my second child and leading a growing company, often as the only woman in the room, I realised:

“While I had always been good at pursuing goals, I had been less attentive to listening to my heart.”

That realisation became a turning point.

After selling the company, my husband and I co-founded a social enterprise built around a simple but powerful idea: everyday products can be designed to reduce environmental impact while supporting communities in need. Together we developed a reusable water bottle made entirely from sugarcane, helping provide more than 50,000 months of clean water to people in the Central African Republic. The company grew internationally and was ultimately acquired, proving that purpose-driven businesses can also be commercially successful.

Since then, my work has evolved toward supporting other leaders and organisations navigating the same questions I once faced myself:

How do we build successful businesses while respecting the limits of our planet?
How do we grow responsibly while staying aligned with our values?

Today I work with founders, leadership teams, and organisations who want to integrate sustainability into the heart of their business, not as an afterthought but as a strategic foundation for the future.

Alongside my advisory work, I mentor entrepreneurs, serve on boards, speak internationally, and host the We Are All Needed podcast.

“The transition toward a more sustainable economy will not happen through policy alone. It will happen through leaders willing to build businesses differently.”

And I believe every one of us has a role to play.

With love,

Alexandra
